The first floor of the St. Louis Marriott Pavilion won the Gold Medal for 'Most Outstanding Building' as the Spanish Pavilion at the 1964 World's Fair in New York.
The building was subsequently purchased by the city of St. Louis and rebuilt with additions as a Trade Center. After going bankrupt it was reconfigured as a hotel by Henmi, Zobel, & Fott in 1976
